Happy Thanksgiving and King's Day folks! I hope your hearts and minds are full of joy.

It wasn't a holiday a Australia but I took a restful day nonetheless. After several very long days and Peggy's appointment and my neighbours mum died (not suddenly but not too drawn out either), I needed some peace and quiet. Blossom aproved.
Kings day here is on the sixth of Jan. I think most famlies do Christmas as well these days.

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

I've been working with Rex on his manners. Here he's waiting for my 'ok' before he gets his holiday dinner.

I want to recommend a chicken book to you all. I'm posting it here because most from the three threads read this one.
It's a hard back so that in itself makes it a nice object to own. It's the best all round chicken book I've come accross. It's not about how to keep chickens; it's about chickens.
The book is very well presented and contains bits of knowledge about chickens I've not found in many other publications.
I suspect if one wanted a greater depth of knowledge one would need to read studies and papers which is fine, but often difficult to access.

Hardback ordered today & looking forward to it!

I’ve ordered mine from The Book Depository. It will be here after Christmas but that’s ok, given that it’s not a present. I wonder if Dr Barber will be surprised by the little spike in sales!
I’ve sent an email to hubby with the details of the book as a very subtle Xmas hint. ;)

Good on you Blossom!

I don't know who started it. In the end Hattie won. Now did Hattie instigate ghe fight because she had enough of Aurora or did Aurora pick on the wrong hen, I do not know. Hattie is the only hen bigger than Aurora.

Hattie is also definitely moving around better today than either Lilly or Aurora whatever that means.
Go Hattie!
