Jaffar is in with me tonight, (Tonight, i don't care who knows this) he’s got his own perch and I just want him near me, so I can keep a lookout for internal injuries. He is moving slower than usual
I might do the same in your shoes. Have you looked him over, Alex? Has he pooped yet and will he drink or eat?

You are the best kind of sucker Kris.🤗

Where did you find her? Is she one of the ferals?

So, I’ve been hearing a baby goat for most of the day, got all the chicken stuff done and walked down to help with the tree, I could hear her in the draw somewhere. By the time I was coming home it was dusk and the bleating was constant, with no mama to be seen and my Ravens circling and getting a little too happy. I got a visual on her. It was a very tough slope and she was tucked under a rootball of a (smaller) tree. I don’t think she was able to cross the stream and got left behind. She isn’t taking to improvised nipples, or cow milk. But she’s pretty healthy looking and should be ok until I can get her a proper bottle tomorrow morning. She is one of the feral goats. Just glad she is a “she”.

Good on you Kris. I hope you can reintegrate her with her herd with minimal fuss tomorrow. Don't forget to take your phone for photo opportunities! 😉

I have made it to page 1900, less then 900 pages to go! I might really catch up some day. Now off to sleep. Here is a kitty pic for you all, my poor fluffy butts spent the day hiding from the downpours we have been having. 20210107_000752.jpg

LOL BY BOB, tell that to momma hen. Its her mission in life to either be sitting or raising chicks. IF and its a big if, you do manage to break her, she'll be right back broody in a bit over a week. I give up with that hen and let her have her way. I did let her daughter Nugget go with toothless when I rehomed him but I kept another daughter of hers. Snickers is only half game....hopefully she's not as bad as her momma. I'd like to have a steady supply of eating eggs and its hard to do when everyone is wanting to sit.

Tell me about it! 🙄 I have 4 or 5 who are constantly going broody on me & every so often someone else decides to join in! It's a PITA ~ especially as I can't keep a rooster & all their eggs are infertile!

Not candy... definitely a very bad idea... my cats are not impressed. I need a bottle. DH is very, very not impressed. She can jump, has already piddled on a blankie, and if mama would show up I will happily return her. Doesn’t like blue glove improvised nipples, is trying to chew everything. I am NOT cut out for this... I don’t do sheep even
Where did she come from?
I am with Mrs BY Bob. Baby goats are right up there in the adorable rankings. Particularly the jumping! It is big goats that are more problematic!

Edited: Read ahead. Read ahead.Read ahead!!

I can totally understand that, and you know no one here is going to judge you on that one...
I had to be sure he would eat and drink something, and carefully check for any physical damage. He just seems frightened, so this chicken daddy is here for him. I found nothing. No bruises, cuts scratches or bite marks. He did actually eat a few pieces of liver, left from my dinner. Thanks Kris
