Am I wrong or are things improving for Cillin with Treacle? It feels like he is on his way back into the tribe. Certainly Treacle needs the help.
I would like to think it may happen but I don't really believe that it will. The most likely outcome is another fight.
I think this is just one of those family disputes that there is no satisfactory resolution to.

I should note she is the only cat who has not jumped on the bandwagon of going potty inside the front door and for that alone I love her!

You ever watch Animal Planet? We did for awhile when we got it for free, and we watched that Jackson Galaxy show "My Cat From Hell". Very good if you're into cat behaviour. It's possible the going potty near the door inside is a marking strategy to protect the house / their territory from the threat of other (strange) cats. You might have a neighbor's cat or feral cats that are marking your door on the other side, or marking things in that area, and your cats could be reacting to that. Chicken tax to follow with data from my phone...

Total white out for the last few hours. We are somewhere between 16" and 18" but a bit hard to tell because of the drifting. There are strong wind gusts now and then that swirl it around and dump it in random places. It isn't forecast to let up until tomorrow afternoon.
The Princesses seem content hanging out inside.
Their open 'pasture' runs are completely filled with snow - it is a bit hard to tell without knowing the bones of the Chicken Palace but in this photo they should be able to go through the grey door (and another grey door further down that is almost completely obscured) and out into the pasture run. But that is all one big snowdrift. You can see a lot more snow in their covered run now too.

I am a little worried by the snow blowing inside, but it is only a dusting and it really isn't that cold now so I keep telling myself it is OK. I hope I am right! You can see it on the ground here in the foreground in front of the nesting boxes.

I put straw down on snow like that in the living space. My big run is staying pretty clear this storm.

I have come across some anecdotal evidence of people successfully using benzocain for bumblefoot surgery. I've not found a paper on it. I have found where veterinarians have mentioned to other vets using topical lidocaine when treating prolapse.

I feel like this may be an old wive's tail. I have found it stated with great emphasis, like it is absolute, that any "caine" (lidocaine, benzocaine, etc.) will kill your chicken. However, I can't seem to find an origin story.

I would not want to have my topical lidocaine sucked in through a wound that is bleeding heavily because it can effect the heart. However, you can apply it and let it soak in and dry, then do whatever you need to with I believe minimal risk. At least based upon what I have found so far.

Again, no one should take what I am saying as gospel. I have not gone to vet school.
My vet Gloria uses a local aneastheitc on fowl. I don't know what type it is.

Loved that show. Used to watch it all the time.

Yes, @BY Bob suggested that and I have set up a camera. I think it very unlikely there are cats, and they aren't 'marking' they just have relocated their toilet, but it is definitely worth checking so I have deployed a camera.
And yes! I am a Jackson Galaxy fan. It was watching him that made me think maybe there is something about the other litter boxes that caused them to be less attractive. Something scary? Not clean enough? They are pretty clean but I will do a complete deep clean once the storm passes.
Very annoying!
