We had a dog in the neighborhood that its owner, a woman, could not control. It burst from the house one day and grabbed up my friend's terrier as he was walking it and crushed the terrier's chest. The terrier died in my friends arms. A week later the same dog got loose while she was walking it and went after a child. Luckily someone else walking by at the time was armed and shot the dog before it could get to the little girl.

This should not be. Even worse she has another dog. It is smaller but just as untrained.

I should not have to consider buying a weapon to walk in my neighborhood, yet I have. All because of an irresponsible dog owner. 😕
Gasp! This is awful!

This was joking all the way around, although Mrs BY Bob does love Polish hens. Your comment was taken as such. Nothing to worry about.
I agree. I may have missed something subtle, but read it all at face value... friendly banter with a little gentle teasing. I think that’s how we roll here!

So this egg was on the coop floor under Ester this morning. It is shaped like her eggs. It would be the first egg from her in weeks AND the darkest egg she’s ever laid. Her first egg cycle started with pale eggs and got lighter from there all the way to white. I’m hoping this is the start of a new, healthy, normal egg cycle.

Chocolate egg? Is she trying to upstage the Easter Bunny?

I was going to go out and dig up some earthworms for the littles, but it’s just too cold out, and it’s raining.

Alex were you serious about taking your chickens for a walk, like on a harness? I only ask because I have seen those chicken harness things sometimes at rural king. Me and Rosie have joked before that we need one and surely we could train one of our to use it. I have just been afraid that they would freak out and hurt themselves. But if it can be done safely, next time I see one I will pick one up.

So my facebook is mostly used to keep up with my family and friends. Also a few games. I also think I may annoy my non chicken friends seeing as how if I get a good chicken picture I post it, oh well. I will admit it didn't take a hour for Karen's gang to be gone before I started missing them. 2nd thoughts about letting them go and all that, even though they were irrational. My room is just quieter as both group were being brooded in here. Well around 7ish last night a photo popped up on my feed. It was Karen and her gang. They were introducing their family and friends to the new babies and announcing their names. They chose Rocket, Spike, Princess Lay-a, and Karen. Ok, felt a bit better. This morning when I log on first thing I see is another picture of them outside with her enjoying some supervised free range time. I still miss them, but I am happy and feel much better this morning. I will still be able to watch them grow up.

You do seem to get a lot of hail. How often does it hail there? We almost never get hail.
Rarely! Thunderstorms are pretty rare too, at least here in the valley where I live. Oregon as whole has everything, and gets all kinds of weather, but where we are at the south end of the Willamette valley we generally just get rain.
