Love her!I’m not allowed any favorites. If I show favoritism, all the others hold a grudge against me. (Until I deliver more meally worms) I’m hoping little Jave grows up to be just like my Rocks-Anne

Or dogs. Or Beta Fish. Or preying Mantis.I DON"T believe chickens should be made to fight. I think that maybe, he is raising roosters for that purpose![]()
Love this photo. She looks proud. How old is she?Success!

Her eggs are so pale that this one looked white in the nest box. She used to lay very pretty brown eggs. Not Maran dark brown mind you but legitimately brown. This one is also long and pointy. Her normal egg was much more round. It's funny how age affects their eggs. I am just sort relieved that she was able to deliver successfully. The yard is also quiet right now. No more continuous bawking!
Trying to grab @MaryJanet so she knows.
Got it. Remember cats will go over as will raccoons and foxes. I don't know what skunks do - I have only ever picked up one on my cameras and it clearly had business elsewhere and was not interested in chickens!Bunnies go in and out under the fence. If a bunny can pass through...........
Well I've seen skunks and cats.
I worry most about a dog digging it's way under by quickly expanding a bunny passage.
Yes. That.More frequent pictures would be nice. If you think of it.![]()
Marie, it was taken as only a joke! My comment was stated only to honor By Bob, and his lovely wife. There are no hard feelings..... And many hugs! Please do not feel offended by my speaking honestly.
It can be hurtful making a comment to any lady like the above. I felt so awful, as I thought my comment would obviously been taken for what it was, a joke .
Life is extremely difficult for all of us, so my way of dealing with my worries is to come in here and leave all my troubles aside.
P s Hugs![]()
I used to rescue and foster dogs, so I've heard some horror stories. Being in this area now, folks are pretty good at keeping their dogs at bay. Even barking. I hear it in the day, but not at night, thank goodness..that's a pet peeve. Cats! People think it's fine to let the cats out. Had one kill, and eat one of my Heritage RIR's one year. Plus, I have a large front flower/garden bed out front. They come and pee and poo on my flowers and vegetables. One year it was so bad. Do you know how bad cat urine is on plants? I had no vegetables that year. Sorry to say, I had to start putting out a live trap. I work hard in that front bed. Vets will try and tell folks that it isn't a good idea to let cats roam. So many things can go bad for them. Fights that end up with sore infections. Hit by cars. Dog attacks. And yes, traps.Dog owners make me so angry! So many of them fail to train & let their animal roam & they do waaay more damage to our wildlife than cats do ~ though cats get all the blame. They're as bad as irresponsible parents who excuse their child's bad behaviour& make no attempt to correct them. Sorry. I'll get off my soap box now.
