There’s a local short story contest (750words) thats closing in 2 days. Topic is ‘the gift’.
I’ve known about it for a month but haven’t had that moment of cohesion with an idea that fits the topic.
I’m considering writing something based on Penny and Bok. It could turn out totally lame but it could turn into something decent.
My first feathered ladies, and so many intangible gifts that we have given each other that it might just work...
I have a lot of emotion going on with Bok right now, I need to do something with it

I thought that I had hit a home run with those. I lined up your poet with @Shadrach naming sensibilitiesand a quartet no less! I was so sure that would be the winner. I am thrilled that you figured it out and I did not have to tell you.

So this is how my morning went
I went out into my backyard to feed Sunny and her little chicks, when I noticed there was a hen with 11 chicks in my backyard! She's visited a few times before, but she's not one of the residents of my backyard.

I think Chickadee's been busy spreading the word that all chickens are welcome in my backyard -the more, the better
