I've just shared a few posts with Nifty-Chicken on the update discussion thread about ads and I've been convinced that the ethics shaping byc are sound, so I paid for premium membership to cover my share of running the site and opt out of ads being served to me.

My premium membership lapsed the other day and I almost sprained my fingers trying to renew it to get rid of the ads. I had forgotten how intrusive they were. Yikes.

So can you share those ethics with me in a summary format?

Scarves are such an easy way to invigorate an outfit and it's always nice to look at a scarf on someone else. It seems like evety single scarf is different :)

My wife is a huge "scarfer". I love the colors she adds to basic outfits. Really dresses them up.

I was impressed with (1) the provision of methods for opting out of ads and (2) that these methods are both paid and free/earned - I would now love to see an option to buy premium membership for byc friends on birthdays or christmas.

Their attentivenrss to socio-economic disparity and "freedom from... " as well as "freedom to... " is almost unheard of on other social media.

For this reason the byc crew deserve special recognition.

While this is great work, inspiring, I'm still unclear on how much of my/our data is being harvested by third parties.

I imagine the byc privacy policy is gdpr-compliant so once I get a minute, I expect it to be a quick read.

Thank you very much. That is very helpful.
