So wait... in my coop where they roost it’s 1600 watts!? So when it’s 95 degrees F in summer.. they are roasted chicken
I think your maths might be off or you made a typo. If you've got 16 hens, that's 160 watts.

If my memory serves(and it might not) you don't have 160 hens (1600 watts).

I've just shared a few posts with Nifty-Chicken on the update discussion thread about ads and I've been convinced that the ethics shaping byc are sound, so I paid for premium membership to cover my share of running the site and opt out of ads being served to me.
I just did the same thing. I really didn't know all that stuff he told us until I read his post. Kind of made me feel like a real jerk!!! Honestly, I'm not. I'm just old.

I don't like paying until I'm sure the ethics are sound. It is very expensive to provide a website like this one and many providers disregard the freedoms of their users. I'm sure that not the case on byc.

10 watts per chicken I'm led to believe. I guess Tribe 1 will be warm with ten of them in there and not much space.
So if I move all the chickens into the trailer it will be like 600 watts of heaters? I might be able to sell DH on that chickens in the human coop after all!
It's the duckduckgo browser and I'm using it on my phone. On my laptop I use Firefox which is also good at blocking ads

I'm a bit of a rebel and I feel that blocking ads gives me greater peace of mind and freedom from thinking about stuff I don't need.
I kind of like seeing how my phone is spying on me... I find it entertaining, so long as the ads are beside or between the posts... so far so good, but I’m on my phone.
Brrrr. Poor you. Lucky chickens getting hot breakfast though. I include the shells when I make scrambled eggs for the Princesses and it looks like you don't. You are roughly 10,000 times more experienced than me so I am curious, is scrambling the eggs with the shells not an OK thing to do? The Princesses seem fine with it so far.
Not all that experienced, but thank you! Sometimes I give them the shells, sometimes I don’t. Some of my girls don’t like them cooked into their eggs for some reason and will eat around the shells. I just figured as a few of the shells were muddy/poopy, and most of the eggs were cracked or frozen (took the nest boxes out to feed them inside), it just wasn’t worth the effort of cooking the shells in just to have them plucked out... especially as I was feeding in the roosting boxes and don’t want them eating on poop or making too big a mess.

People here don't think I ever change my clothes. What they don't realise is when I bought the clothes I wear day to day I bought 3 pairs/units. It helps with the chickens strangely enough. I'm not changing my feathers every five minutes.:D

Works wonders with cattle as well! And that’s why my favorite sweater is in tatters... it’s my “cow jacket” and they instantly relax when the realize it’s me. Or get super excited if I have a bucket... “grain??? No, rocks... but it’s still exciting because it’s a bucket... and buckets hold grain”

Ok, my neighbor is emailing my chick's pic's to me now. Here's the first one of my 6 that I just hatched a couple of day's ago.
