Thank you. She wanted out again the morning, so let her free range unsupervised for five hours. That was a risk, but I thought it was worth it. Now the rest of her tribe/flock, the dog and I are out with her. It’s a three -day weekend, so that will be four days of free ranging for her. I can’t believe she still makes her happy sounds. While she LOOKS like a different hen, she sounds the same. I love that. I cherish each day she has, and hope she does, too.
It sounds like she is enjoying herself still, which is lovely to hear.Thank you. Part of me feels like we’re just dragging out the inevitable, but I’ve said several times now, we’re on her terms. If she wants to (and can) live, I’m certainly going to let her.
Why do I picture her singing in "Carmen" when you say that? She must be practicing for her role in the chicken opera and is seeking audience feedback as well as acoustics.
Range time is therapeutic, and absolutely necessary for the health of my tribe. That is great. I'm so happy that she had the extra range time.![]()
Have you added cider vinegar to his water plus ginger and turmeric to his feedWhen I hold Jaffar, he gets excited, and his breathing gets worse (gurgling and coughing) he prefers to just be left alone.
(This is not normal for my buddy) we used to snuggle and hug together all the time. I am getting even more worried about him, than ever before.![]()
That is what we are here for! One for all, all for one. (Like the Three Musketeers).I just gave Jaffar some antibiotic laced feed, and brought him back out to the barn/coop so he could wake up his ladies. Yes he started crowing (very strained) but he’s trying. First one off the perch, was Emily (his main hen) my poor roo, all I want for him, is a good life.
Actually I feel the same way about all you my friends here at BYC . Sorry I didn’t mean to dominate this conversation with my troubles, but Bob said I could, so I did.
