Thank you. She wanted out again the morning, so let her free range unsupervised for five hours. That was a risk, but I thought it was worth it. Now the rest of her tribe/flock, the dog and I are out with her. It’s a three -day weekend, so that will be four days of free ranging for her. I can’t believe she still makes her happy sounds. While she LOOKS like a different hen, she sounds the same. I love that. I cherish each day she has, and hope she does, too.
I think she's going to recuperate. I'd leave her be so her system can recover without help. It seems to suit her.

Thank you. Part of me feels like we’re just dragging out the inevitable, but I’ve said several times now, we’re on her terms. If she wants to (and can) live, I’m certainly going to let her.
We all must live our last day eventually, but I think she's got more time yet.

We are all dragging out the inevitable actually. I like your approach, it's not clear yet that you should intervene for her own comfort. Chickens are in the moment; we tend not to be. It seems she is making happy sounds, she is going about her day, she doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable, it goes better for a day and then less well for a day, so you do not have a clear directive yet. Someone here said she will tell you. You thought maybe she was telling you before, and you gave her a bit of time, she sorted it out, and now again she's telling you Not Yet.
Thanks so much. She put herself to bed in a nest box with her face in the corner four hours early, so we’ll see. I think she had a better day being free than she would have penned up.

I actually did get a fluffy butt shot today. Not the best, but here is Flo’s fluff

I think it was Shad who said he intervenes if a chicken goes 3 days without eating. She's not there yet. :hugs
