Agreed!I'm really pleased at how tame they are! I'm thinking Bob might have a pair of lap hens in the making.

Thank you for this. I actually think of Maggie often! So glad to hear! You may not remember this, but in September after Maggie laid two lash eggs and the vet said there wasn't much to be done and I should expect her to decline and die (he even offered to euthanize her right then). I asked this lovely group to bear with me as I was going to post a picture of Maggie every day until she died - sort of a tribute. And I did for a week or two and indeed she stopped eating and lost all zest for life and I stopped posting pictures because it was too heartbreaking. And @BY Bob was very kind and sent me PM to help me prepare myself based on his experience with Daisy (TGHE). And I just felt so forlorn and sad.
And somehow time passed.
And now look at her strutting her stuff in the long grass!.

I really hope Ruby makes the same progress and even if she doesn't you know that you gave her a shot and she had some more lovely chickeny days.
Don’t get too hopeful - just be happy for every enjoyable day she has.Thank you for this. I actually think of Maggie often!
This morning Ruby came out talking. But also stood with her eyes closed several times like she wasn’t feeling well. Now I’m home after work and they are free ranging. My neighbor (not the one with the cats and their favorite tree... someone else) just brought her home, because she was in his yard. Years ago, Ruby’s nickname was “Adventure Girl,” because she used to venture into his yard. I am delighted she was back at her old ways.
Gooooo, Adventure Girl!!!
Dare I get a little hopeful?
Good advice.Don’t get too hopeful - just be happy for every enjoyable day she has.
