I have been unhappy that because of construction I cannot get any good photos of my Princesses. So instead I am sharing a video from the summer. For me this never gets old. After a hard day tilling, fertilizing and destroying bugs in the raised beds where I grow vegetables, the Princesses suddenly realize it is time to go home. In spite of the rather ungainly waddle they go really fast! It makes me laugh every time I see them go. Sad that now there are only 3 of them.

That's a rather waddling lope. Quite a relaxed run actually. When my girls run to me there is often a lot of wing action involved

AH! the wife has turned to the Dark Side!!! That was the most difficult hurdle! Mwaaahahahaha! 😈

With what has gone on its hard not to let her in. Aurora is frequently alone these past 2 days and I know she is safe in the house.

They Know!

During the days the flock was locked in the coop someone must have figured out that the ceramic eggs are fake. They threw them out of the nesting boxes. Look where they wound up!

That is simply awesome! I love it. Smart bird.

Along these lines, the wife was speaking about bringing the birds in over the weekend. It was extremely hot out and she felt they might like an air conditioned break. I am concerned as to where her head is as winter approaches.
tell your wife about my emergency camping tent I set up in a spare bedroom when the weather goes single digits. It's easy set up, easy to carry outside and clean(just turn inside out and jet spray), and big enough to improvise a roost in. I do leave a window cracked for them so it's about 35 degrees of so. Don't want them getting used to indoor temps! Yes, I know, my girls are spoiled rotten.
