Since her molt, Hattie is spectacular.

Here is a better photo. I have never heard of the ragged feather gene. That's kind of sad. Im sorry yours have it.

One of my LO has different looking feathers. They look almost lacey or something. My others look like Hattie. They are so quiet and laid back. I just got 3 Barred Rock hens yesterday so I’m looking forward to seeing their personalities. Will be getting 7 Easter Eggers and 6 guineas in a few days. Then I’ll have enough chickens for awhile. My neighbor wants me to hatch some LO for her. I’m hoping one of my hens will do that for me.

Well, here goes. I’m grabbing photos as I can. Here is Ruby. She’s one of the almost 3 year olds. She’s a Buckeye and had the nickname “Adventure Girl” until she started getting sick. She’s had a couple health issues, and even had a hormone in plant last year. She’s back to her adventurous self, is getting sheen back in her feathers, and is squatting fiercely again. The Buckeyes are the most muscular birds I’ve had yet. I am hopeful for her continued good health.

Edited to add: I forgot to mention... she outranks the dog.

Ok, I know this is Bob’s thread, but is it cool if I introduce my girls to you all? It’s Saturday and I’m outside with them, playing fetch with the dog (flock guardian... sort of)
Please do. I know Bob will be thrilled if you do too.
