I feel so mean asking advice.

I need to deal with a mouse situation. One came out of the coop and ran over my foot this morning.

I found two things that may help but would like anyone here to give their take on them...

In my experience neither.
Step one is exclusion. Hard but doable I think depending on your set up.
Step before that is taking food out of coop at night.
Step two I am afraid is snap traps. They are human fast death.
Sorry. I am not into killing things but they can get out of control really fast.

There are 2 woods here that's why I thought that alternative. But if this is impossible I will have to take the cruel way. What's your view on the ultrasound method? Would this upset my chickens?

I know of a man, whose life started out quite awful too.(Like your chicks) People tried to kill him as a baby, but he got away to safety, He was born under some very poor circumstances. He was nurtured well, and grew up strong. By the end of his life, he saved the entire world!
So, I believe, there is hope for your babies, and seems our vigil did bring them home to you Bob! :D :old
