This seems right on to me. There was another point the lady made, caught my attention as I had never heard it before, that the escort song after laying was to draw other hens to lay their eggs at that same site. That strikes me as really odd, given the stories about how secretive hens who go broody are with their nest sites.
She is wrong. Read my article. It is the escort song. She calling to the rooster to come get her as the tribe is no longer where it was when she left it. I frequently play rooster and go gather up Sydney and take her to the rest of the tribe.
