Hahaha, I haven’t seen a lot of his tiktoks but we watch his YouTube channel A LOT at home, a lot…

Jumps or Flight?

Well it did not take long for them to get up on heat plate. Of course watch for the dismount and you can tell the difference between the two of them size wise. It is pretty dramatic. Silvie's dismount is not graceful. 🤣

So cute! Loving catching up with all these pics and vids of your new babies! I missed the whole event real time, sorry 💜

Here are the other 2 pictures of Butter. I'm seeing a big change in flock dynamics and Butter is smack dab in the middle of it. I always assumed that one day Henrietta would eventually be top hen. Butter has decided to make a bid for the top spot. I don't know if where when she was injured her confidence got boosted where we would not allow any bullying from the chickens. Or if she always had this in mind but she has started asserting herself. Everyone now defers to her, including the former top hen Momma and all it takes is a look from Butter. If the look does not do the trick she will deliver 1 quick stern peck to get her point across, but 90% of the time the look is all it takes. This has really came in handy during roosting times. Momma hen can cause roosting drama as it changes nightly who she wants to sleep beside her. If the wrong chicken is beside her she tries to throw everyone off the roost. Butter will have none of that and has actually thrown her off the roost a few times. When this has happened and momma got back up she is instantly subdued and does not cause anymore trouble. If she really has become top hen I think she will be a firm but fair and peaceful leader.

Love it! (And Butter 🥰)

Elizabeth: March 2019 - September 2021. RIP.
Elizabeth died suddenly today. I am sad and will miss her.
Yesterday she was running around happily exploring the long grass.
This morning she was fine, though maybe a but a bit less perky than normal. By 5pm she was clearly not long for this world - her comb was turning cold and blue and she was only semi-conscious, and by 6pm she was gone.
You may remember she had been having trouble putting solid shells on her eggs for quite a while in spite of lots of extra calcium. It wasn't that she laid soft shelled eggs (though she did once) but more that the shells were so thin they would crack on impact. So I imagine the cause of her death was something reproductive.
Being thankful for small mercies, it was at least quick.
Hopefully you don't mind me posting some pictures here as a quick tribute to the lovely Elizabeth.

Looking back at these pictures I think she had a good chicken-life albeit too short.
Farewell Elizabeth, you brought me happiness and were well loved.
Rest in peace.
RC, that must've been an awful thing to go through :hugs

Whohoo!!!! Squirrel did it, she just gave me the best birthday present. Her first egg!!!! It's tiny but perfect and exactly what I expected from the Butter x Drumstick cross. His gene's darkened up the shell color several shades. And she has a few speckles from her momma.
Squirrels egg on the left and Butter's this morning on the right.

I’m so sorry to read this @RoyalChick :hugs
Elizabeth did have a wonderful life with you and her sisters.
Our feathered friends leave us too soon sometimes and it hurts 🥺
Take time to grieve and the pain will ease eventually.
RIP Elizabeth. Gone but never forgotten 💜
