It is heartbreaking even when you (we) have been preparing for it. Perhaps whatever has been causing the swelling, maybe a tumor, has blocked her tract now. I am so sorry! Goodbye, Ruby dear! You've been a good caretaker, @micstrachan Peace to you both.

I actually think that is EXACTLY what was going on, probably along with other things. However, she pooped right before she died.
