Yes, we have had a weird autumn. We have had multiple snowfalls which eventually melted, but today it's -7C/19 F. Funny how that seems cold today, but mid-winter would be a balmy day!:)
That is cold compared to us. Downright cold.

Right now they are confining their work to the end of the coop with the heater in place. So they must be a little chilly.

They think maybe your lap and arm are much warmer, than the new condo they have now? They will be fine.

You can still have evening cuddles, why not? I'll read ahead, but that routine would be a comfort to you both. Sit with them just outside the Hut for awhile. Did you set up a chair at least in there? :D Or a nice cot? :lau

The other option you realize is a larger indoor brooder.

Would work for a little while. :hugs :hugs
Thanks. I have a chair in the run and I just sat with them for a bit. Of course it's not the same but I felt a little better afterwards.

Nope, she is a beautiful chicken. I admit myself there are only a few breeds I'm drawn to and can pick out, the rest are just chickens. Albeit pretty chickens. Bob's new candy corn girls have sorta sparked a interest in polish. I'm loving this color variety. But before I even start thinking about adding polish I have to have at least 1 Brahma. They have been on my list for a while now, and I wanted a Dark Brahma. Well the other day I stumbled across a color in Brahma that I didn't know about. Black, I NEED 1. That way I will have a Black Copper Marans, which with my hens they are mostly black, Black silkies, add in a Black Brahma, and for good measure a Black Cochin and I'll be set.
Look at these, Big, Black and with feathered feet and legs, they would fit right in.

And then a black polish!

Final Roosting on BY Bob

Every night when I bring the girls inside from their little run they roost on my arm. When we get to my office then they hang out on my arm and from themselves, even nap for a while.

Here they are last night. For the first time someone slips off my arm.

Because of that they adjusted their roosting location. I was a little worried about my head. 😆 After all there is precidence.

What a special moment 🥰

They arent paying for cable! This is all their getting for free rent.
Do they not barter eggs? You better hope they are not unionized like @RoyalChick hens! You would not like to deal with a strike.

They look happy in there. You can still have your special evening time with them. I'm sure if you moved a lawn chair beside their coop they would still perch on your arm or you for a few minutes of cuddles. Or better yet, in the evenings bring them inside for a few minutes, have a towel handy and let them sleep in your lap for 1 tv episode of your choice. I'm sure Mrs BYBOB wouldn't mind. Who knows, she may insist that Phyllis is brought in to sit in her lap at the same time.
I love this idea. 👍👍👍

Well done. You are being very brave.
They are certainly good at scratching in the bedding!
I would think a house-warming gift would be appropriate. Some meal worms perhaps or a little branch to jump up and down on.
:love
The coop was full of meal worms as a house warming gift from me. 🥰

I think their hiding their payment, they keep saying they cant pay for rent but i see them making scrambled eggs in there all the time!

Don't forget they have two cats the size of tigers in that house!
They are large. 😆

Éowyn had her checkup on Monday. 16lbs and 4 more years of growing to go. She is only 1lb behind Davis and has a much larger frame.
