On that note… Bob, it would have been tricky for you to take them in for an extended time while it was Hawk Hour and the rest of the tribe was out. I have a Buddy (brand) propane heater that comes in handy for times like this. I bought it for the beach, but really only use it in the yard with the chickens. Something to consider for your safety kit.

Roosting Last Night

Roosting in the Cluckle Hut went according to script last night. I was so pleased. I added a bunch of straw to the nest box so they could snuggle up and stay warm.

I did the same thing. I now have a long extension cord going to the coop. I will never carry water to mine again like that. It is a lot more work than he thinks. That's at least twice a day. He knows that right?

Get a long extension cord.

He says he'll do it. I believe him... Or at least I believe he intends to! Ha! The trouble is sourcing an extension cord that long....
