I put the tarps back up, since rain is coming tonight and expected all day tomorrow. I only do the side that typically faces the wind. They played in rice hulls all day long and finally came out! Here is my view at the moment…

(The white tarp beyond the chickens is my neighbor’s boat.)
I learn a little more about your property and set up every photo and video. Very cool.

Belle came out on her own this morning and has stayed out all day
:wee :celebrate:wee
I don’t want to jinx it but her broodiness could be over!!
It could have been because Snow pooped in there over night or I thought it might be because she’s on day 17-18. Would the chicks be making noise inside the eggs about now and she would be talking back if she had eggs under her? Not having this interaction could have caused her to give up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Please educate me. Why prick your egg before boiling?
Well, like @bgmathteach said, it releases the air and then the shell doesn't crack.

So you have to prick it carefully, you want to make a hole in the shell but not in the membrane. Then you can have the water boiling like crazy as you gently place the egg in, I like to go point first, but I've been told it doesn't matter. Set the timer to 3.5 minutes (if you're me). Watch the bubbles of air escaping from the shell. Think of Dad. Time's up! Remove the egg and serve it (Eg with Vegemite soldiers).

You'll still get one crack every now and then, but not as often.
