All of the neighborhood kids show a interest in the chickens, and I am all for them inter-acting with them. I actually supply eggs free of charge to 3 of the households when I have excess. I am not ok though with them inter-acting with the horses even though there is a big interest with several of them. I feel bad to a point as I know the love of them, but I also know that they are 1000lb animals that have a mind of their own. My daughter has been around them since she was 1, has been taught how to behave around them and handle them, they have not. And well, if a accident were to happen we live in a society today where everyone jumps on the lawsuit bandwagon.

Sounds like a wise choice - but helping with the chickens is a great way for kids to learn about caring for others.

I know I owe tax but I really am too feeble to go out right now. So I am submitting this estimated payment on account of Maggie from a couple of days ago.
Hopefully will be stronger tomorrow.
One thing is clear - there is no way I am leaving the house until a bit of melting happens. Really dumb of me to leave the car out.

I found that comfry tincture helped me through a bad patch in late 2019. It took a while too be able to get air up into my nose again.
I swear it was covid but I also had black mold in my home at that time.
My walls had water coming in through the wall panels and under my floors because both the roof and guttering was badly damaged

Lemons ginger and comfy dragged me through it all, though it took around five months.

Please stay positive and keep ontop of it.

Have regularly been in -43c cold, it's so cold plastic extension cords break don blink or your eyelashes freeze together

I really do not know how people keep chickens in those sort of temps without heat... It's different for cattle and horses they are plains creatures built hot/dry, cold/dry conditions. Poultry not so much!

Now you're making me feel worried.

I've done everything humanly possible too keep them warm and safe. I bought a special material too cover the entire coop and run and they have the best straw shredded wood plus a thermal lining underneath their straw.

They were toasty last time I looked. I don't want to open doors too let their heat out now.

And now Raven has arrived and kicked Bunny out of the box. I think Bunny may have had time to lay her egg but not sure. Raven bites if you try to feel under her for a egg.

The chickens now have a clear path to the porch. I'm not going to lie, I only started the path. When I went out a few of the kids were out playing including the one who loves my chickens. He ran over and asked what I was doing and I told him why I was clearing a path. He's like "that looks like fun can I help". Here have the shovel have at it. While he cleared the path I refilled feeders, and carried water out to the horses and chickens for the 2nd time today as the hose is frozen. He did such a good job and even swept off the steps and porch that I gave him $5 for his work. I love the neighborhood kids. He also volunteered to help with the stalls in a little bit but I declined. That is what I have a 13 almost 14 year old for.

Hello Fluffy Butt peeps. I have been quite sick the last few days and barely able to drag myself out of bed to care for the critters.
Think I am maybe turning the corner now. Just dropping in to say big news. Maggie has decided to start roosting again.
I missed it all because of being out of it but there she is this morning between Diana and Dotty on the big roost.
I am happy about that.
Minnie is still roosting alone but she is perky and laying eggs so I can’t put that down to sickness. Just bloody mindedness!

Great news about Maggie!
