Generally speaking unless they're sick or are lacking feathers they should be fine in there.I know our weather is fluctuating all the time.
It's freezing now and air should be clear but it stinks of burning rubber out there tonight
I would love to be able to heat up my girls little coop but with no electricity that's just impossible![]()
OMG yes, autocorrect is terrible! Microsoft word will do that, I turn it off when I am working because it wants to correct my Canadian spelling of different words (anything ending 'our' esp! ie: colour, behaviour....) hahaha![]()
Spelt: an ancient form of wheat.... but that's how those words are spelt!![]()
I do think Webster's American spelling is infinitely more sensible though, getting rid of excess letters and using 'z' instead of 's' when you have a 'z' sound. (And that's 'zed', not 'zee'....
)
Nope, I'm fast coming to that conclusion. And honestly, I don't need a particular 'breed', what I want is a long-lived chicken.I honestly don't think those breed descriptions are reliable.
Yep zed for sure... but that's how those words are spelt!![]()

My best horse I paid a couple hundred dollars for.... Grade horse....Nope, I'm fast coming to that conclusion. And honestly, I don't need a particular 'breed', what I want is a long-lived chicken.
That's Alpia. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body.I guess you got me
OR
she says mean hurtful things and you just don't understand what she is saying.
They appear to have no problem. When they were pretty small and would bring them outside to explore it I took out the platform and put in a little roost on the poop tray covered with hemp, as the spaces between the roost bars were too big for them to navigate. But they quickly got big enough for them, I think by 6-8 weeks they were fine. Now, I see them grasp across two, or are standing on the intersections, or just on one bar. The poop for the most part goes down between the bars onto the poop tray. The Buckeyes move about easily, they often come up the ladder while I'm cleaning and look out the open back and talk to me, then go back out to the run. I'll try to get a picture of them, or maybe a video. I could measure the bars and spaces. Here's a picture from the Omlet web site, though these hens look a bit small. Maybe they are bantams, or young?How do the omlet roosting bars compare to one long roost? Can the hens easily grasp the omlet bars? They look a bit too close together to me but I've never seen it up close.
Yes, I can testify Sidney has been making a nest and laying in the left corner of the Cluckle Hut near the door and feeder, you are not flu-crazed, at least not on that point!Do you read this thread?
Just kidding.
Sydney has been laying since just after the new year started.
I did post on it including videos, right everyone? I'm not nuts am I? I could have sick brain.
