How far is it from an outlet? You can run a heavy duty power cable so that you can at least plug in a heated waterer and a light... That is what I told my niece to do with her coop (of course it's MY heavy duty power cable she 'borrows'...).
It's a ways, and the room closest in that direction hasn't been gutted/redone (new to us house), so it is 2 pron outlets/no ground. I'm not comfortable plugging into that with an extension cord going outside. There was lots of wonky wiring in this house..to the point that our electrician removed some wiring immediately...said it would keep him up at night if he left it, so bad/hazzardous. so we have a couple rooms with no electricity right now ourselves.

I could not do this without them. The cameras have proven invaluable over the years. I just ordered another one to cover the porches and connector.
What brand are using? I have Swann wifi in the 4 stalls, but Reolink in the alleyway, Hen House, and outside the barn mix of Power-over-Ethernet (POE), and wifi.

Wow ya safety first for sure. If you're doing wiring have them run some to you coop you can always do the trenching yourself to save money and just get the electrician to wire it in.

I am trying to talk her into getting rid of the two ducks. They are messy and also very cold in this weather. I don't mind bringing her hens to my place for the winter but not the messy ducks!
Ducks are messy. Even when they are cute little fluff balls they manage to get duck poop and water everywhere.

I think I will make lasagna tomorrow 🤗 need to also make bread....
Forgot to add the chicken tax 👍

This is Roxanne and Stanley, they were killed by a fox one evening, a hard lesson to learn... ☹️ I was optimistic Roxanne was hen, till he started crowing !
