Oh no, not Gus?!![]()
To be clear… the farm didn’t want him, and he would have gone to auction (often ends at the processing plantAlso, I’m so sorry about the bull. Didn’t you adore that guy?
Oh, Kristen, I am so very happy to read this.To be clear… the farm didn’t want him, and he would have gone to auction (often ends at the processing plant) BUT… his previous owner was the only person they could find to transport him. A lot of his “problematic” traits (in their minds) came from his gentle and social upbringing… so Sam kept him, and can’t comprehend why they didn’t like him. I’m not sure if he’s on Galiano Island or if Sam was going to bring him out to his larger herd (outside of Prince George?), so he’s probably got many good years still ahead of him with a farmer that appreciates him properly. That takes most of the sting out of him being shipped. I still miss him, but he most likely better off wherever he is now.
Some of the farm and ranch supply places have something shaped like it. I think for horses? Goats? Maybe for oats in a stall? Looked up.TY, RC. You are correct, I will need to find something bigger. This past week or so it has really ramped up from an every-other-day filling to every day, sometimes needing to 'top up' the most used (first to be empty) one in the afternoons! I swear they are eating it like candy
Yours look so nice! I was hoping they were larger than they are.
Its nice when an animal is appreciated for his good manners. Glad he is living a good life now.To be clear… the farm didn’t want him, and he would have gone to auction (often ends at the processing plant) BUT… his previous owner was the only person they could find to transport him. Thank you! This is the cutest baby pic I've seen.
Glad to see others have bed time drama like I have here - I now just shut the hen house door and tell them - figure it out! Just checked them an hour ago when I did evening chores and they were all settled in - thankfully!
Arizona is going to stay inside the coop with all the other chickens tonight. I’m hoping that I won’t find a dead redheaded pullet in the morning. She has to learn to stand her ground, she can’t stay in the house forever. (She’s actually larger than some of the Rocks) but always gets picked on. I say please be safe Arizona![]()
We got an even dozen. Our oldest EE is laying her big green eggs again and looks like Silky laid her tiny egg too9 eggs in one nest. 2 more nests and a couple of spots in the yard to check. The girls are stepping up the output today!![]()
Good luck.
