Caught the little bugger from the bookshelf last night. I've had a live metal trap (with peanut butter in it) set there for over a month. Nothing. 1 week and caught it. Reset the trap in the storage room hoping to lure out the ones between the ceiling (and the floor above). Whole process is much easier than the metal box: move the boards, unhook the wire, grab the handle, take out and dump.
Morning dawn temp 19F. Went out with the bucket when it reached 30 to let the tribe out, feed, etc. Took nothing but the bucket. let them all out (except the babies), and let the mouse catch their hungry attention, then let the mouse go. It ran, they chased, it started looking like Grand Theft Auto video games with the cops after the mouse, who managed to hide under a box....i moved it and the chase was on again. I think Blanche got it which was a first for her. Here's to hoping for more mouse steaks for them. If they get enough this way, maybe they'll learn to catch them before the little devils get into the house.
It hard to believe this was reply to 1 week ago: exactly 100 pages ago...
