I am being lobbied to open up the brooder door. I’m not sure that is a good idea!

And a first goes to Lulu who has discovered dust bathing. I have them a dish of grit. The others have no idea what she is doing but they like to pick at the bits of grit she throws around.

Wow, she is great at it right off the bat!!!:love

Hmmm, I see what you mean about being lobbied for 'out', lol. I will just warn you, once they learn there IS an actual 'out', you can never go back.......:wee(I know he is supposedly saying 'yay/wee', but he is REALLY saying 'FREE, FREE AT LAST")

Boy it's cold here I dread to think how bad it is for those of you with snow brrr 🥶

This is my coop and run. I have ten birds. They usually free range most of the day, but when they don’t, is this big enough for them all? (Anybody have an idea?) I have seen much smaller ones on BYC .
I guess I want to hear that my setup is fine for my chickens. :confused:View attachment 3044554View attachment 3044555
Dimensions, please.......
I am assuming it is fine, especially since they aren't in it 24/7/365; but it A) depends on total size, B) depends on your birds, and C) depends on enrichment.

You seem to have some enrichment, .....

Yes, not going to let them out yet - there is nothing in my bathroom for them anyway. Their space is decent - it is a circle - diamater about 29" so what is that 4+ square feet - so I think they can stay put for a bit longer - and then I will move them out to the brooder box in the coop which is 2'x3'. I think they will be fine.
Now she has discovered bathing she is doing it all the time. She discovered she can do it in the shavings too. It is her new hobby!
:love
