First chick is out, a Holly baby. I'm 75% sure I can go ahead and call it a boy. It has a noticeable comb minutes old already. Those for the most part, have been boys.
I'm pretty sure the chick Peggy squashed a few months ago was a boy for the same reason, a very obvious tiny comb.

I'm so excited....:wee

You are probably saying 'What...who would be so excited about that...I mean it's okay, but...."

Well, it is my official Chicken Run Chair!!! It is perfect...sturdy, roomy seat with arm for me (knees and hips are bad, so arm for getting up is a huge win) AND...it has an attached side table for the hens that want to be close but not held!!! I'm in love with it. Now, just a bit of light sanding and some eurathane...and a cheap seat cushion...and we will be ready to go.:celebrate
I love it!!!

Let's make that a 90% plus prediction boy. Not only does he have a comb, huge feet. I can not rely on indicators like that with the mixes, but they are a dead giveaway on my pure marans.

We used to have beautiful flower beds. First came the fight with balls when all of the kids were out playing when my sister and brother were younger. Then we took over the barn and never really had time to maintain them so they started to suffer. Next came the chickens. Other's can have beautiful flower beds, I'll take a nicely mowed lawn and happy chickens.
