Another Monday Mugshot… here’s TroubleView attachment 3068583
In her broody nest box… awaiting air lift to the meat tractor, where she was quite active eating, walking around a bit, and drinking… so looking much better! Fingers crossed she makes a full recovery and goes back to pecking most everyone, myself included (but not Tailless, meat mama, or my Bully Girl!)View attachment 3068585
She’s looking good!

I'm so excited....:wee
look what I got for free (at the transfer station)

You are probably saying 'What...who would be so excited about that...I mean it's okay, but...."

Well, it is my official Chicken Run Chair!!! It is perfect...sturdy, roomy seat with arm for me (knees and hips are bad, so arm for getting up is a huge win) AND...it has an attached side table for the hens that want to be close but not held!!! I'm in love with it. Now, just a bit of light sanding and some eurathane...and a cheap seat cushion...and we will be ready to go.:celebrate
I love it!

Is that a particular type of comb? Or just an individual quirk?
She wears it well!
Definitely quirky ☺️

I have to agree with (was it bgmathteach?) who said it was a cross between a pea and single comb.

I am seeing some really quirky combs on chickens now that I have them!

You're such a good chicken mama 🤗

And she is such a pretty gal I sure hope she gets better.

@LozzyR Any work from your Vet about environmental suggestions? It may be too soon...as I kinda lose track of time bouncing between trying to catch up on old & reading the new, so please forgive if I'm jumping the gun and seem impatient.

How are you holding up? She was such a beautiful girl.:hugs:hugs:hugs
Hey Barb, thanks for thinking of me! :hugs I haven’t received an email from him yet; he’s either got distracted and forgotten or he wrote it out wrong and it bounced back. I can have a guess at his based on the format of Dr Nikki’s email.

I’m ok; I’ve had the distraction of the chook Taj Mahal being installed. I miss her though; we only had her 2 1/2 months but she was all attitude. I miss my sassy little madam. :(

Thanks, I’ve had to relocate her back to the coop as we are getting really high winds… she even got herself into the nest box and was sheltering inside it from the weather… lol. I did t give her her usual crew today as I knew it would be a brief outdoors time, just evicted Sammy, dropped the tractor back down and left the girls that were in there in with her. She walked a good 8-10 feet at least, from where I put her down to the feed, back to the waterer and then up the ramp and into the plastic nest box, leaving everyone else out in the wind.

She was a really good little hen.

@RebeccaBoyd you wouldn't be able to keep those healthy with restricted feed. Not long term. I raised them once...restricted access to feed for 12 hours a day from day 4 on. (I realize, that isn't strict feed control...but more than what is recommended for ones so young) and they were too heavy to act like chickens by 6-7 weeks of age. I will never raise them again. It was best you left them - they would have only brought you heartache...💔especially since they are quite docile, and you would have fallen in love. I call them Frankenchickens. It's shameful what we have done to them with breeding.:rant Sometimes I'm very sad to say I'm a human.:(
I’m ashamed to be human quite often. :(

Rocks-Anne doesn’t seem to be doing well today. She’s sitting around, acting sleepy and refuses meally worms. I’m holding her right now, and having gentle conversation. I know how my ladies usually act, so I know how she’s not feeling (not happy) :(
How is Rocks-Anne doing now Alex?

I just returned. Rocks-Anne seems better today. I think that she was having trouble with laying her egg yesterday. She’s inside with me at the moment, watching a documentary about the Hard Rock Cafe business chain. (YouTube) go figure :idunno
