Its a wrap. I am heading off to bed and have posted the update for Bob in a PM. I have invited everyone whose posts I linked to into that PM and you can invite anyone else. Apologies in advance if I missed anyone and let me know if you want to be added.

Good night all and welcome back @BY Bob!
:goodpost:

Just read your synopsis for Bob and it was FANTABULOUS 🤗

I once again lived vicariously through you guys with your chicks 💖 as I also certain Bob will also🐣

GOOD JOB💖💖

Ok, I need to know what is going on here. Corona is 8 months old, I looked at her this evening and thought something was wrong with her legs. I caught her to take a closer look and what the heck, she has a few feathers on her legs. I promise you this is new, I have had my hands on her since the day she hatched and she has never, ever had feathered legs. She does not have many and they are not very long but each leg has a small line of feathers. This was the one thing I was told by everyone, "if they are to have feathered legs, they will hatch with feathered legs. Feathering does not appear later on." Ok....explain this.

And a very angry Corona

She did not appreciate being held upside down so I could inspect her legs and take a few pictures.
I have seen light feathering come in after juvenile molting on some of my Marans and 3rd generation Marans crosses (grandparent 1/2 Marans), so it is quite possible. Heaviest feathering I have had was actually on a double Marans grandparent but both parents were clean legged! (both the hen and rooster had a Marans parent or grandparent). Although adorable I am trying to lean away from the feathered legs in my breeding because of the amount of mud we get here, and I wasn’t thinking about that Marans grandpa and great grandpa at all with the clean legged parents until the chick popped out with heavily feathered legs and feet. Sadly the mink got him last fall in the big attack, which did save me the decision on sending him in for sausage or keeping the cute little devil. You can also see grandpa Chickie Hawk’s cheek puffs! And he was super soft… 😢

Lovely little fellow sorry he was killed by the mink.

I used DMSO with the horses, had some effect with it, but not always.

Not tried CBD, but McMaster U has done an extensive study and found no conclusive effect from it.

In the past I would try all sorts of stuff on the horses, if it worked I would try it. Spent $1000s on stuff for the horses... Most was just expensive pee (waste of money)...

Overall for injuries I have found rest, meds, exercise works. For Chronic pain staying active and taking pain meds was best treatment. Getting good sleep is of the utmost importance.

Sounds simple but in reality it's hard - everyone wants a cure in the 21 century 😁.

Chicken tax 😊

As I said CBD is a cure all, and like most cure all’s… I am sort of leaning towards the whole snake oil with the hard to separate hype, placebo, or actual effectiveness in many alternative remedies 😉

Such a pretty gal

Can't speak to hairy legs other than in the Silkies... (And my own 😁 I know TMI).

Moi. It's about the only way I can keep up with this thread @ present.

Yup - you are definitely set up to block PMs (at least from me). I will try following you (if I can figure how) and see if that helps.

Edited: I was already following you so that didn't help - I think you need to look at the settings on your end. Sorry!
