Here’s a polka edition of “Cemetary Gates” by Pantera… it’s strangely decent. Lol and there’s some fairly amazing bagpipe covers of Metallica out there too!

Pangoo liked "In the Misty Moonlight"... But disliked Tiny Bubbles 😁

At least that is what him attacking my phone could have been!!

Ok… finally, Finally… FINALLY “my” geese have brought their babies! I was scrubbing away at some rusty stove parts with CLR for the free camper project and heard the chickens making a commotion but couldn’t spot the source of the “not serious” but concerned alarm. Then I spotted them. Normally we have goslings in March… so further proof of how messed up the weather is right now. Six teeny tiny babies they aren’t trusting me enough for good pics yet because the littles are so small, but they get bolder as their goslings mature. Last year they raised 4 successfully, two the year before that, they always hatch out six…

I tried to offer them some chick starter, but they are still too wary at this stage so my chooks ended up feasting on it instead.

I should go out before I even log on in the morning… but then how would I ever stay caught up? Lol. I can always pay in Roosters… they are so much more likely to pose! If the dratted uploads would work 0%,18%, 22%, 65%…and stopped. :rantsigh more tax View attachment 3088090View attachment 3088088and my little brother crowed…so I have to too! Oddly the elder hasn’t got nearly the tail feathers… I wonder if this is worth breeding with? It’s sort of odd, and he’s a bit of a jerk so I keep calling him “sausage”
That first roo is lovely, he is lighter than his brother. I take it they get along ok?

Like the rock - but it's not barred...?
The rock is part of my sophisticated leveling, chick proofing, and tarp securement system, also great for when I put a nest box in because I can wedge it into an upright position, if anyone wants to lay in there… they don’t, but I like to give them options. I do a changing of the meat tractor boy free zone friends several times throughout the day usually.

Same here haven't seen goslings at the pond up the road yet.

Only thing early was the swallows!!

Hahaha good old rocks. Low tech but it works!

Someone once asked me why I had some big rocks on the top of the fence posts.... I told them they are handy at keeping gates open and put in the bottom of buckets so they aren't tipped over 😊

Good size rocks are hard to come by here! So I keep the ones I find handy.

Hey how is the chick doin?

Sammy and Dean mostly keep them both in line. The first boy is far more docile, the second is a little rough with the girls, aggressive towards the Barnvelder crosses, and generally a PITA. He’s the one that wasn’t letting Elios, then Spike, now Baldy into the coop at night. Sammy and Dean have accepted Baldy fully so he’s starting to integrate into the overall flock. I don’t usually have problems between the different Roosters or cockerels… except for that darn jerk chicken squad. I will decide who goes in with the meat birds closer to July, but right now I know several will be making the trip to freezer camp…
