Not with a live one. Not risking her abandoning (or accidental injury) 1st time mama = unpredictable responses. Leave be. She's ok so far with food/water: warning sounds, but no strikes.

Wait… you also have a hen named Flash? Am I forgetting this or is this something new? My Flash was named for being quick as a flash as a chick.

My Flash, is one of the newer Rocks. She’s fast and first to get her treats from me. She doesn’t get much social media attention.

And risk the wrath of mama hen?

This is her being nice as I give her more eggs. You should’ve seen her go at me on pulling her out of the tiny nest box and then trying to relocate her into the crate. She doesn’t care which way she faces, where she sits… she just turns into a puffy, bitey, stationary lump. She will poop, eat, and drink maybe every 5 days. She responds just like this to attempts to hand water or feed her as well. But she won’t break, she’s crazy determined when she decides to sit, and she’s a great mama.

Edit to add: that noise is her striking my hand, she wasn’t missing, and yes it hurts a little. Not as much as the two solid bites and attempts to tear in the aforementioned moving process
