Tentatively very hopeful… I agree that a good broadspectrum antibiotic probably wouldn’t hurt to try.Minnie having a good long drink of wild water. This makes me very happy as I haven’t seen her drink anything all day.

That’s a good idea, and maybe scrape up the dirt and take it around the front where they can’t get at it.Best suggestion I can think of is try not to disturb the area too much, then check it carefully with a flashlight after dark hopefully the cut areas of the shavings will be more easily visible then?
It Princess Aurora although I suppose she is now Queen Aurora.Which one of your lovely ladies is this? I am terrible with names and faces![]()
If you can get the vet to provide a slow release shot of doxycycline it is one shot and you have a 7 day course of the antibiotic. It is way easier than dosing a hen twice a day for 5 to 7 days. This is what Lilly got to clear her infection. Two shots for a 14 day course.OK. Thanks. And why doxy vs amoxycillin (with or without Tylosin) both of which I have in stock? Or Baytril/enrofloxacin which I know I can get rapidly?
You mean Dr. Watson? You know, that’s the famous Sherlock Holmes, wonder chicken. And she’s beautiful. Where is her assistant?
Perfect! Ciao Bella!
I'm glad everyone was safe! Scary!Mink sighting last night, about 9 pm. I closed In the Goats and Free range Flock about 8:30 then drove down to the farm to do a load of laundry and steal some water so I can hopefully get some more cleaning done or the dishes today. It was inside Hawk’s Run and eating from the feeder when I drove up then hid in my remaining trusses, and eventually I chased it into the trees to the North (mountain side) of our road. I strongly considered moving the chicks back inside, but am a light sleeper and they are right next to our bedroom window (open) and have excellent contact with the ground in the meat tractor. They were all in the one solid huddle box, not the vented top part so I placed that at the opening to the solid one like a little run and positioned cardboard around the hole in the back. Didn’t sleep well, and at 2 am we got rain and I had to go out and get them a tarp and cover up all the cleaning stuff I have out (I am currently detailing all our vehicles) then 5 am DH had to leave for the ferry, to get sausage making supplies and some crumbles for the chicks.
Gorgeous!Mugs Monday: ClaraView attachment 3120084
Clara is bottom of the pecking order, but I love her spunky attitude. I have no idea why she ended up where she did in the social order. She is currently almost broody, so she wanders around ticking and letting out bloodcurldling yells. Last night Myrna even ceded her digging spot to Clara!
I'm dense today. What am I missing?“Tomatoes” my province is known for producing many, high quality varieties of tomatoes (and they no longer sell at. $2800/lb)but it does also work wonderfully with actual tomatoes.
Love them! The theme was just for my pictures.Um, wouldn't work. Cannabis = herbaceous. Apple = woody
(Unless there is a cannabis tree I don't know about...which there very well could be, I'm so uninformed about cannabis......mainly because I don't care and secondarily because I'm up to the neck in what I am already trying to stay ahead of,)
Will a head tuft count too??? (Asks Mystery chickie)
