Thanks. I feel better now.I am not at all offended. Clearly I am NOT a biologistAnd even if you didn't mean to put me in my place, sometimes I need to be anyways!
And, I DID appreciate the info, too![]()
Besides Momma hen, every single chicken on the place gets at least a minutes worth of crop massages each night. I'm also working each evening with Lilly and Cricket. They are still sleeping in the porch boxes. I will move them to the roost very soon as they are almost big enough to hold their own with the big chickens at night. After I put everyone else up I take a cup of coffee out to the front porch and hold each one in my lap for about 5 minutes gently rubbing them. Lilly falls asleep in my lap and Cricket is starting to relax and really enjoy it. When they are done they hop off on their own and get back in their box and I do not force them to stay. This way when they are older and if I need to get ahold of one real quick I do not have to spend a hour chasing them down like I do Momma Hen.That looks wonderful. You are very fortunate. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Wow. That's tall!A rare item in itself! I went looking for wire hangers some time ago for some project i don't remember now.
Crazy the things that disappear with little notice.
Like blueberries if you blink!

Sadly can't stop the cars. I wish it was quieter most days.It was a drinking party
Phyllis drinks elegantly, Aurora drinks efficiently!
And what peaceful sounds emanate from your yard.....only to then have auto sounds interjected

I’ll have to see what we can get here.I have one of those radiant cozy coop heaters, I had my two silkies broody for about 5 weeks in Feb Mar and I kept it in front of their nest box to keep them warm as it was brutally cold this winter, and they had plucked out feathers to line the nest
If you can run an extension cable down your garden one of those would likely work wonders. Is it further than 100'? I don't think cables come in longer lengths...
I’ve had to come home early. Snowy was in the front bit with the Faverolles! How is it going?
You may not. Once you are in you are in. There is no escape. Can I leave the club? I'm fighting to break one of the cochin girls and the other one is threatening to join her sister in the broody club.
Gorgeous. I just love rainbows!Went out to close the coop. Gully washer rain storm came in while out there...stuck inside with all the birds....rain mostly ended. Came back inside to grab phone and get this:View attachment 3134172Full arc. Awesome evening!
