That looks wonderful. You are very fortunate. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Besides Momma hen, every single chicken on the place gets at least a minutes worth of crop massages each night. I'm also working each evening with Lilly and Cricket. They are still sleeping in the porch boxes. I will move them to the roost very soon as they are almost big enough to hold their own with the big chickens at night. After I put everyone else up I take a cup of coffee out to the front porch and hold each one in my lap for about 5 minutes gently rubbing them. Lilly falls asleep in my lap and Cricket is starting to relax and really enjoy it. When they are done they hop off on their own and get back in their box and I do not force them to stay. This way when they are older and if I need to get ahold of one real quick I do not have to spend a hour chasing them down like I do Momma Hen.

A rare item in itself! I went looking for wire hangers some time ago for some project i don't remember now.
Crazy the things that disappear with little notice.
Like blueberries if you blink!

We grow mustard every year (usually twice) but these plants are not only crazy huge, they are growing in a shallow pile of dirt on a tarp:ththese flowering stems are at least 8' tall.View attachment 3134153
Wow. That's tall!

It was a drinking party:D

Phyllis drinks elegantly, Aurora drinks efficiently!

And what peaceful sounds emanate from your yard.:love....only to then have auto sounds interjected😒
Sadly can't stop the cars. I wish it was quieter most days.

I have one of those radiant cozy coop heaters, I had my two silkies broody for about 5 weeks in Feb Mar and I kept it in front of their nest box to keep them warm as it was brutally cold this winter, and they had plucked out feathers to line the nest 😖

If you can run an extension cable down your garden one of those would likely work wonders. Is it further than 100'? I don't think cables come in longer lengths...
I’ll have to see what we can get here.

How is it going?
I’ve had to come home early. Snowy was in the front bit with the Faverolles! :barnie Lottie was hunkered down by the mirror. When I offered her some chopped-up grapes, she seemed quite enthusiastic, but didn’t eat a whole heap (which I suppose would be natural). I popped Snowy back in with Lottie and left them to it. I’ll have to see what sort of heat source I can get here. I’ll get some more baby bird food into her tonight so if she’s getting extra nutrients twice a day, hopefully that helps.

Went out to close the coop. Gully washer rain storm came in while out there...stuck inside with all the birds....rain mostly ended. Came back inside to grab phone and get this:View attachment 3134172Full arc. Awesome evening!
Gorgeous. I just love rainbows! ❤️
