Minnie’s crop was empty this morning. She went to bed with a normally full crop (not mega bloated) so I was optimistic.
But yay!!
I have no idea what of the various treatments worked but I don’t care. They worked!
:yesss:

I just have her last dose of miconazole so I will start to feel less like I am running an infirmary.

Now she, Maggie and Dotty still have diarrhea which is how this all started, and I still have weirdly walking Bernadette. But at least I am not syringing and worrying about every bite of food.

Back to diarrhea. Is it possible diet is part of the problem? They are all on chick starter which is very high protein. But they are foraging a lot because the weather is good. Hmmm.
According to this site, yes,

And this one, too

I don't know how reputable either of these sites are....but there were lots similar to this, wasn't finding more reputable sources (gosh, the search function in Merck's is CRAPPY unless you have a disease title already!)

Very interesting - thank you for looking - I will do some more digging when I take a break from chicken and garden chores. I have to go destroy a big wild rose that has Rose Rosette. That involves burning the cuttings and sterilizing the tools and changing my clothes before coming near any other roses. Sound familiar? I feel like I am dealing with epidemics all around me!
I can cut the feed with All-Flock which is lower in protein. Diana (who does not have diarrhea) will not be amused at that switch because she LOVES the grower feed. But she can go out and stock up on bugs.

Mine get diarrhea when they eat a lot of green stuff, When they were weeding the garden area for me, it was daily. Then I was away for a week, and they were locked in their run, poops were rock solid. They went back to loose as soon as they got out to the garden again. It comes and goes, and almost always relates to food. Like watermelon.

Glad for some progress! Sounds like You've done a splendid job.

Question:

I have noted that my silkie has a full hard crop, and I can feel seeds (or something with texture) in there. Last night I didn't give and treats as I wanted to see if her crop would go down, I think it did a bit, but it was still hard and full this morning.

She was eating this morning and seems normal. Any suggestions or am I just seeing things?

If it is full this morning.....I would definitely suggest action. I'll let @RoyalChick respond with full-on directions. She, unfortunately, seems to be the resident queen - by -fire, on impacted crops.

Generally speaking, though: coconut oil (easy to feed, but olive oil works too), massage, limit/avoid ANY fiberous foods.

@RoyalChick please elaborate...unfortunately you have gone through a number of them lately, but fortunately with positive results. My non-invasive efforts weren't so successful.
