I went out around dark and took some pictures this evening. For Mugshot Monday I give you little Karen.

Thank you all for your support everyone. I wish it was just the lashing out but there is more to it as well. Under supervision and making sure she was taking her medicine on time and the right dose last month her bloodwork had shown for the first time in years her A1C was down to a 7.4. Keep in mind it had been at a 10 for ages. The doctor told her he was proud of her and it was great and to keep it up. She is taking it as a personal challenge to do whatever she can to blow that. Sneaking food, eating spoonful's of sugar and trying to bribe anyone and everyone to bring her junk. Then acting like she does not know why she has a blood sugar reading over 300. We also are having extreme difficulty getting her to take a bath. Mention taking a shower, "I can't right now, I'll do it after I take a nap". I'm lucky if I can get her to take one twice a week. It is just quickly becoming too much.

Now for the rest of the pictures.

What are you doing up there Cricket?

Cricket is a porch chicken no longer, first night she attempted, and succeeded to get up on the big roost.
DSCN7977.JPG

Lilly on the other hand, was asleep in the porch box and had to be carried to roost beside her sister. I want them both to learn to roost together so it was either take Cricket back to the porch or move Lilly.

Now for my little hooligans. They finally all 7 have names. I had been calling the 3 red chicks the "Grannies". We could not settle on a agreeable name for the other 2 red chicks until the other day. This group is nosey, and if they are off by themselves and you try to do something with any of the others you can give it 2 minutes until they come running to see what is happening. My dad started calling them the "bitty committee". That is when their names dawned on both me and mom at the same time. The 3 red chicks are now Granny, Berthie, and Lassie. When those 3 ladie's were alive, they could all 3 be found sitting around my Great-Grannie's kitchen table gossiping. Nothing went on in that holler that they did not know about and they made sure everyone else knew about it as well before they left that table. Their gossip also resulted in a well deserved sore backside a few times growing up. If me or my brother were doing something we knew we were not supposed to be doing, one of them spotted us and mom knew it before we even walked in the door.

This is from a Pixel 4a phone, it's high-rated for the camera compared to iPhones, I wanted to stick with Android, and not spend oodles on something I might lose in the woods. It also has a pin-plug for earphones which is better audio than Bluetooth (plus I'm old-school).
You take amazing photos. I would highly recommend the camera on that phone.

My gals are undermining one of my pine trees, it already has an evil lean! All I need is a good wind storm I fear!
Can you peg some chicken wire over the area they are digging in around the tree...that will at least help stop damaging the roots and removing the soil. Pines are fairly shallow rooted....you don't want it undermined too much as it WILL fall
