I think that is right - there was one just under my knees but I think she is obscured by the tree stump. I liked how Bella and Bernadette were sort of mimicking the artwork!

That latest photo of her shows her amazing feathering very well - she has spots and stripes and flecks - really an amazing looking bird.

She's really friendly too. such a gorgeous hen.

Funny anecdote: a delivery person was once sent away with one of my parcels when a houseguest didn't recognise the name on the package!

I admit I feel some pride in her success. There were a couple of times when I nearly gave up hope and I did feel like most people would consider me rather foolish for doing the boots and the physical therapy and strapping up her hocks when they got caloused. But right now I am feeling it was all so worthwhile!
She is a beauty - I need to get some good pictures of her gold neck which is stunning - and as far as I can tell she is still the leader of the Hooligans tribe - they certainly follow her, so now she is more mobile and exploring they have all increased their range considerably.
So happy!
I have observed an interesting thing which is they have real strategies to avoid the Roadrunners - for example they are most active and wander furthest in the evening when the Roadrunners are chowing down on their pre-roost face-stuffing and therefore predictably at the feeder.

You’re just like me… lol congratulations on being not a farmer! Would a person not take their cat or dog to the vet and treat the problem? Why would you treat a chicken, or any other living being similarly? You did an awesome job and she’s living her best life and that’s what matters in the end.

I am serious - I attended a talk by the cyber security chief of one of the big banks and he shared data that showed that one of the most effective protection mechanisms is to lie. Meaning not give your real date of birth etc. I figure the facial recognition version of that is to cover your face!

I worked in IT in retail (Sears) in advertising effectiveness and target marketing .

It's all about knowing who you are targeting and how to advertise to them. Here's how it goes for facial recognition:

Your face is pictured in the store wherever you go whatever aisle you go down. Whatever items you pick up look at stop in front of etc.

Then when you check out your face is also pictured and matches to your credit card or debit card.

So now they know who you are, what you bought, and what caught you eye.

Now they can target you online and with snail mail with advertising that maybe what you like.

So my suggestion is to wear your mask (I am wearing mine all the time now not only for this reason, but because at work no one can see my facial expressions haha), and use cash rather than credit/debit.

Also don't stop and linger by things you may purchase or want if you don't want to be targeted. Do what I do, every aisle I stop and pick some random item up... Or look at something random. AI is good but not perfect they can only track trends. Say you buy the same brand of bread every week.

But if you don't really care or appreciate getting sales alerts for the items you use then your good go!

This is why I never use my phone for banking or email, I have a dedicated laptop with security for that. My phone is for phone calls texts and all my peeps on BYC .

You are under surveillance all the time - if you drive a newer vehicle data is being collected on how you drive, and can be used as a black box in the event of a collision; in a store; on a telephone; in an public place; etc etc....

The only place you are not surveillance is a bathroom

Heck I have cams in the barn, I am sure anyone with half way decent hacking skills can hack in and watch me belting out 'in the jungle the mighty jungle' to my chickens

She did awesome didn't she and her feather babies are reaping the rewards

Fyi my farmer neighbour loved his dairy cows, his favourite Mandolin was permitted to roam at large and she would regularly have friends along for company hahaha not all farmers are like 'those that shan't be named'.
