Yes, I realize that is what happens - but I don't really see the need for facial recognition to do it. I thought via my phone they already track which aisles I linger at. I don't bother but switching off wifi and gps before going into stores is apparently the way to avoid that.I worked in IT in retail (Sears) in advertising effectiveness and target marketing.
It's all about knowing who you are targeting and how to advertise to them. Here's how it goes for facial recognition:
Your face is pictured in the store wherever you go whatever aisle you go down. Whatever items you pick up look at stop in front of etc.
Then when you check out your face is also pictured and matches to your credit card or debit card.
So now they know who you are, what you bought, and what caught you eye.
Now they can target you online and with snail mail with advertising that maybe what you like.
So my suggestion is to wear your mask (I am wearing mine all the time now not only for this reason, but because at work no one can see my facial expressions haha), and use cash rather than credit/debit.
Also don't stop and linger by things you may purchase or want if you don't want to be targeted. Do what I do, every aisle I stop and pick some random item up... Or look at something random. AI is good but not perfectthey can only track trends. Say you buy the same brand of bread every week.
But if you don't really care or appreciate getting sales alerts for the items you use then your good go!
This is why I never use my phone for banking or email, I have a dedicated laptop with security for that. My phone is for phone calls texts and all my peeps on BYC.
You are under surveillance all the time - if you drive a newer vehicle data is being collected on how you drive, and can be used as a black box in the event of a collision; in a store; on a telephone; in an public place; etc etc....
The only place you are not surveillance is a bathroom
Heck I have cams in the barn, I am sure anyone with half way decent hacking skills can hack in and watch me belting out 'in the jungle the mighty jungle' to my chickens![]()
The art work counts!Living or does art work count?
I think you were spot on. She is a longshanks and also has a long neck. She is an elongated chicken! All your hens are utterly adorable.
Was I right that Bernie is rather a longshanks or did I misjudge her?
I realized after posting that it looked like I had stretched the photo. But she really is that elongated, all I did was crop off Lulu and Bella. Here is the original.I think you were spot on. She is a longshanks and also has a long neck. She is an elongated chicken!

I wonder if the length of her shanks played a role in their soreness. It might've done.I realized after posting that it looked like I had stretched the photo. But she really is that elongated, all I did was crop off Lulu and Bella. Here is the original.

Mistake number 1. I didn’t mark the eggs somehow, in case the others add to her clutch.I’m not sure of the logic In this, but I took Xzit out to the coop. Set up her laying box with her eggs, and hopefully she will be more relaxed out with her feathered family. Staying inside (in the dark) can’t be good for her. I watched, as she made herself more comfortable, and she has more room in her box.
Gorgeous. She has stolen my heart. That latest photo of her shows her amazing feathering very well - she has spots and stripes and flecks - really an amazing looking bird.
