Bella is destined I think to be your biggest girl. My Marans and Marans mixes are all big heavy ladies. The heaviest mix I have is Raven the Marans x EE x Wyandotte cross. I have not been able to dig out the postal scales but I did step on the scales holding her and roughly she is 7 and 1/2 lbs.

Wow. That is exciting. She is already quite intimidating looking with that beard and beak and 7 lbs is a big chicken!

Oh that makes much more sense. She is a bit smaller than Minnie who was just under 4lb. And both Aurora and Hattie are bigger than Maggie who is a bit over 5lb.
I am feeling less confused now!

It’s crazy hot outside, so I brought everyone in to the chickens room. I’m having a conversation with Jaffar, and he’s telling me that it’s hard being a rooster in such heat. Says he wants a vacation. I’m not sure where I can take a rooster on vacation? I have to go out of town soon and pick up my new car. That’s a 7 hour drive. (I can’t take him with me though) I wish I could! I won’t be able to fly there either. (I need to drive the car back) “can’t fly a plane and drive a car too” frustrating dilemma.
