Thanks. I will find a way to make it work out. It's just not what I hoped for and I should have planned better. You have had a great deal on your plate recently. That never helps.
And I'm frustrated.

Most all diseases will present in 3 weeks. Some people quarantine for four 4 weeks but I think that's a little conservative. You are making my heart bleed - you should be having so much fun with these little ones.
My suggestion is over the weekend bring them into the house maybe together but maybe one at a time and give them the Rebecca treatment individually.
Quarantine will still be a pain but you will have started developing your personal relationship with them.
As long as the other chickens aren't wandering around the house and you wear 'chick clothes' you can designate your study as chick quarantine territory.
Just a thought.
Out of curiosity, what is the 3 weeks based on? Not Avian Influenza and not Marek's. Do you know?
I may owe shra for this, but I'm unclear on why the setup isn't working better. Surely it's at least as good as the setup you provided for Mal and Aurora.2 weeks to go. I still hate it. I'm fixated on when I got Aurora and Maleficent as they were the last 6 week olds i got. I know I need to get over myself and start to be creative. Gucci has thrown me a little. I don't know why I thought the setup would work better. I'm off my game right now.
With Mal and Aurora the prefab was in the big run. I could separate the big run from the rest of the complex and let them out into it while I sat in the run. We could then interact as they wanted. I have no run where we can interact with the quarantine coop. They are confined to the coop which I cannot enter.I may owe shra for this, but I'm unclear on why the setup isn't working better. She really was. We were originally supposed to give JD one of the two and Mrs BY Bob wanted to keep Aurora as she was so pretty. Imagine if I had given up Maleficent. I can't even fathom the idea now.Baby Aurora was surprisingly cute!
I've had those thoughts some rainy years. But I'm being silly when I say it.Thirsty for wild hose waterView attachment 3168976View attachment 3168979View attachment 3168980View attachment 3168981
I'm debating. Mow the grass or let it grow and hay it?
I would just put my lawn chair beside the coop and just hang out there they will see you interacting with the others and know you are a friend. They are smart they will figure it out quick! With Mal and Aurora the prefab was in the big run.
