Maleficent's coloring is beautiful. Look at the brown in those black feathers. Just beautiful.

I don't know yet. My partner in this enterprise has not met them yet. I also want to see their personalities more. I'm looking for a hen more in line with Hattie's mellow personality so they pair up better.

Our other two residents came to us in April as chicks. My wife raised them until they moved outside and then they became my responsibility.

Hattie is our lavender orpington hen. She has not starting laying yet but i expect she will once the days turn longer.

Jabberwockie, Jabber for short, was supposed to be an Easter Egger hen, however, he is clearly not a hen.

He and Hattie are inseperable.

I have some lavender Orpingtons. Those girls are as friendly as my CQ’s.
And our theme song here is “We like big butts and we cannot lie....” 3 different Orpingtons

I am in love with Hattie. She is so sweet and has a curiosity very similar to what my leghorns had. Of course she has the biggest butt at Fluffy Butt Acres.
:love

It poured all day today. Because the littles are now in the big run I decided to let the others free range today despite the rain. By the end of the day this is what Hattie looked like.

It is tough to be fluffy in the rain.

I’m amazed they went out into the rain! Mine look at water falling from the sky and retreat from their covered run into the roosting boxes. My chickens are wimps...

They definately are wimps. My whole flock was out all day. Everyone was soaked. In fact, some were still damp looking this morning, lol.
