Update

Here is the end table Aurora was on last night. The storms were so bad I lost my "E" off the coop as well. I'm so glad I got her inside the coop.

That’s what scares me about automatic doors... and why I don’t really think they are worth the investment for me. I would still be going out every night just to be sure! It’s a good thing for Aurora you do too! I can’t imagine the poor girl out all night in a storm that bad.

The automated door and the camera in the coop work well together say when when it's really cold or stormy but you have to check. If nothing else I needed to check the camera last night. Without the camera you are correct. I would have to check in person.

I travel a lot for business. My wife is not reliable in the checking the coop realm. There have been many times I have called from the road and told her not everyone made it to bed. The system requires both but it does require that you check.

Shame on me for not at least checking the camera last night.

I always do a head count & then I go out after they've roosted just to make sure everyone's settled & safe. I've stopped going out last thing before bed. I was just disturbing everyone & making them unsettled.

Friday Foodie

I made a huge mistake the other morning. I took a bowl of cereal out to my usual spot with the Littles in order to spend time with them while I ate. I was swarmed! It was almost scary as the Bigs joined in. While the littles crawled up me to get at the bowl the Bigs were jumping up on the arms of the chair trying to get at the bowl.

It was a mad house. I finally got everyone off of me and ate my cereal as Maleficent sat on my leg staring at me. Of course I saved them some and placed it on the ground. Strawberry Rice Crispies for everyone!

It's fun watching the Littles work their way around Hattie to eat!

Awe let the poor wet babies in.

I'm sure they would enjoy a nice nap on the couch after a bit of warm oatmeal to help them warm up and dry off.
