And wait a minute... did you say 41 weeks!? Whoa! That’s a loooooonng wait.... my EE Kelly was my second to lay after my RIR at 23 weeks...
And yesterday I heard one of my middles singing the egg song but no egg... they are 17 weeks.. don’t know what that was about...

They practice first.They scratch around in the nesting boxes & ~ produce nothing! They squat ~ nothing. They sing ~ nothing. They start dropping random eggs in the run ~ or you could have Campines who run shrieking through the run like mad women out of their minds. Truly. They screamed like banshees for weeks. Then all of a sudden they started laying regularly & have been pretty calm ever since.
