Can I ask... why would someone post that?! I stumbled across a YouTube video of a crocodile purportedly killing a dog... I don’t know for sure as I absolutely did not watch it. Can I also ask why BYC would allow such a video?

Educational value? I don't know. :idunno

It was in the predator section if I remember correctly. Things like this go up for educational purposes. Demonstrating a game cam can help identify a predator [useful so you know what sort of a trap you need & how they are accessing the coop.] Some people don't get how clever wild animals are when a free meal is on offer. There should probably be a *Watch With Caution* tag applied to some of these. I know some younger members in-advisedly watched some yob drown a bobcat & were pretty upset.

They posted themselves drowning an animal!

I am sure it was to show others how to do it but why would you do that in today's culture? If certain people identified who you were that could be very painful for you. It doesn't seem smart.

Coop Refresh

Since I was home alone this weekend, unplanned, I decided to repaint the coop. We have our big "soup party" in 2 more Saturdays. It is our final outdoor event of the year. We have a selection of soups, large screen TV set up with a football game on, and the firepit with spooky stories playing. It is a big deal and my wife wants the coop, which frankly is pretty visible in our back yard, looking it's best.

Repainting the coop also means recreating the Fluffy Butt silhouettes. That is a lot more work than it seems. Add in painting around the letters on the front of the coop and it took 2 days. I love the final result. I added a special touch to Lilly's new silhouette. See if you can find it!

Bob, I went right past this one. I didn't read. I didn't watch. But I had a couple of younger members PM me about it. They were [understandably] upset. Perhaps it should have been reported...I don't know about this stuff. There's a certain mentality that I don't understand.

That is lovely Bob! Love Lilly's crown. :) And I get the coop having to look good. Ours is extremely visible too. Not hidden away in a corner. :gig

I agree. My father tells me my love of all living things was too much for someone growing up on a farm. He was sorry I had to do that growing up. I never shirked my duties and fully participated in butchering the animals. I also made sure my children understood how the food supply works. I appreciate everything about @Kris5902 farm life and sometimes I am nostalgic for it. That's why I love reading her posts. (And she's funny sometimes ;))

But doing that and recording it. That is a different thing. I am at a loss for any more words. It's just sad. :(
