They’ll groom me too and they’re attracted to certain pairs of pants over others.

Well, Charlie was on the nest making her broody noises this morning, but I lifted her off and she took off up the garden. She proceeded to have a very vigorous dirt bath by the house and has been waiting around for breakfast. I’m hoping she’s slipped back to Stage 1 broody.

Gosh those tongues are fast! If you hadn't told me I never would have realized they were licking rather than just pecking! I had to watch the video three times before I caught sight of a tongue!

Lucy and Chickie are ex-battery hens who have had their beaks trimmed. I don’t know if chooks lick normally; possibly Lucy and Chickie are compensating for not having a pointed beak. Charlie doesn’t do it; the few times she’s pecked my leg she’s grabbed the fabric and twisted. She’s full-beaked and not gentle!
