Those lovely chickens look so great against the wood chips. Do you have a preference for wood, or aged vs fresh?
For awhile I was able to get wagon loads from my neighbor who had cut a bunch of trees.. but the last time I got some it was loaded with fire ants :rolleyes:... so now I just buy bags of this from Lowe’s... and it is pretty cheap.. don’t get any that is dyed...

It is really unfortunate. Lilly has been molting for weeks. Nice and slow. Hattie is just not as lucky
I hate the hard molt. :( I'm pretty sure that's what did for Namaste in the long run. She just got very run down & wasn't able to recover.

Patsy always had a hard molt. One year she looked like this and it snowed!
