Had.I lost both my BAs in quick succession. They were very pretty birds but I'm opting for a more docile flock so won't replace them even though I really liked them.

No, I still have 2 of the 3 Rocks I started with. The one I lost went broody while I was away & Hubby couldn't find her. I'm thinking there's a genetic flaw in the Australorps I got as I lost all 3 I had, including a bantam.You too?![]()
I wonder if Barred Rocks are more fragile, or we’re both just unlucky. Bessie was just beautiful and I was gutted when she died.

One of my sisters hens lived to 16 years old!I'm hoping my hens have long lives tooI won't mind keeping them when they're old biddies
