Had. :( I lost both my BAs in quick succession. They were very pretty birds but I'm opting for a more docile flock so won't replace them even though I really liked them.

You too? :( :hugs I wonder if Barred Rocks are more fragile, or we’re both just unlucky. Bessie was just beautiful and I was gutted when she died.

I love your ‘no chickens in the house’ policy Shad, it seems to be working really well for you. ;)
You know, I was thinking much the same myself this evening as I mopped and bleached the floor. :D
My current record is 16 at one time. They just wander in and out.

No, I still have 2 of the 3 Rocks I started with. The one I lost went broody while I was away & Hubby couldn't find her. I'm thinking there's a genetic flaw in the Australorps I got as I lost all 3 I had, including a bantam. :( Two went with no warning @ all that anything was wrong.

That’s no good at all. :hugs I hope my Australorp lives to the ripe old age of 12+. In fact I’d love it if I got five more years out of my Isa Browns!
