I got Lucky

I am on the road for work. I left the house at 4:00 am yesterday flew to Atlanta had a meeting then flew to Birmingham, AL for meetings at corporate. I was wiped when I got to the hotel last night. I just crashed. Went right to sleep.

When I woke up this morning I flipped on the web came to see what the girls were up to this morning. This is what I saw.

Maleficent and Aurora did not get in the coop last night.

I will take the blame for not checking the cameras before bed. But my wife is home. It would be nice to know that if I forgot I could count on her. I'm so thankful that Aurora and Maleficent are ok.

Yet I feel like I failed them last night. If something had happened...........

Scary ~ but it happens. I tossed my girls a treat one morning before we went out & when we got home Soda [BR] came to meet me. She wasn't even in the run, let alone the locked coop!!!! She must have squeezed past me & under the door & because I was rushed I didn't notice ~ & she was quick because I can remember counting everyone @ one point. She'd spent the whole day trying to get back in the coop with everyone else. Silly girl!

I am kind of sad that @MaryJanet hasn't asked if she could use the photo as the background on her computer.

Aside from that this really is turning out to be one of the best things we have done this holiday season. We cant stop chatting about it and it is just the two of us.

I have to agree that Santa does look a bit possessive. You probably made his day, he may have been getting sick of all the dogs!

Not a good day yesterday. Has two Huskies attack the sheep and chickens. They pulled down one ewe and her leg broke and killed my lovely Ruffles.
This is my lovely Ruffles on the left with her best mate Fat Bird.

I can't *like* this. So sorry Shad. Ruffles was a beautiful girl & I'm sure fat bird will miss her.

My in~laws, who lived next door to us for 20 years, had a fiberglass inground pool. The drongos used to sit on a dead branch & dive bomb into their pool. They used to make an incredible racket.

Yes, I use like as a ‘like’ and also as a bookmark so I know where I’m up to, this was definitely not a ‘like’ post. She was so beautiful.

She was. I try to be a little dispassionate about my chickens [not very good @ it] because there's so much that can go so wrong so quickly. *sigh* And I know there are risks with everything. I also know she had a great life with Shad! Not every chicken has an open house invitation & pizza to boot!
