Thought I’d share a couple of photos from our garden. The avocado tree is self-seeded and has taken years to fruit. I bought two Frangipani trees from Gumtree, one is going really well, it’s twin not so much. At least it’s alive though, not like the George Brown and Blood Sun I bought from near the QLD border and transported down. $100 for two baby trees and they both carked it last year!

Here’s our original one that self-seeded about eight or nine years ago. It’s never fruited.

That’s probably what happened. Cranky about that! Not only were they $50 each, one was red and the other was orange, so different to what we normally have around here.

Looks like you may need raised beds if you decide to try again.

It may have taken a while to get going but it's making up for it now.

Yes, I was quite surprised to see them! We have a feral lemon tree next to the house (known as bush lemons in Oz) and when I saw the avocados I thought they were lemons initially! Then I realised they were too far down the path to be lemons and that they were avocados! Hubby and I keep banging our heads on a low-hanging one, can’t wait to pick that one! When I looked today, that’s when I saw heaps of them and decided to take a photo.

Something is Wrong with Hattie

Listen to her voice in this video. She normally has a high squeaky voice. She is eating, drinking, and only sounds like this when talking.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Do you have a video of what she sounds like normally? When Lucy lost her voice, she started making a high-pitched whine before she lost it completely. Now she can only whisper. Other than that, she is fine and a bossy madam.

Thanks Chookmum! Haven’t had any avos yet, I’ll let you know when we do. I suspect there will be lots of guacamole in our future. I thought you needed a male and a female but that may not be the case. I’ll have to research it.
