I might have screamed if I saw that. I don't care for spiders and in my car!
I'm sure I'd have screamed if I wasn't desperately parking the car on a bendy country road. The part of my brain that wasnt parking the car was screaming.

My companion (Troy) said, "what's wrong? " and all i could answer was, "the roof, the roof" which was rather nonsensical because the spider had emerged from under the sun visor to ask where we were going ;). I shoved Troy out of the car by clambering over the handbrake to escape through the passenger door the spider was between my head and the drivers door.

The car was an old morris minor, very curvy, with a split screen and a pushbutton start. It had been well-kept but not restored and the rubber seals had perished with time. I presume the spider simply wanted to go for a ride in it :lau Many people did.

Once we were out of the car, Troy evicted the spider and in doing so, we saw how big it was. It was a huntsman, and I presume it was very old and well-fed. It was more than twice the size of all the other huntsman spiders I've ever seen.

Don't forget to make sure that there are no little angles or spaces too small for a rake. Awkward corners are a pain.
Thanks! I was thinking of two sides that drop down like on a trailer. Then I can push the old bedding out.

It's a good thought though. If it's too high, I won't be able to lean in. I'll need to consider that

They don't sit on my lap either unless they are sick or injured.:(
I’ve posted these before but you might not have seen them.. some of them sit.. some don’t...

You should hear her!!
She goes on all day! She wanders off a bit and then calls for Cillin or Treacle. They leave the rest of the tribe. They just get Hurry settled and then she goes off again with the escort call. Poor chaps are running around like blue arsed flies.:D
So funny. A few pages back @Shadrach you mentioned that if they were your hens and you were in different circumstances you would care for them differently. I am really curious what you would do differently. I don't know about others on this thread but I read your posts with a fair bit of envy about how your hens live so I was struck that you would want to do things differently. Hope you don't think I am prying.
